Demetria Hargrove
Demetria Va’Shun Hargrove is the daughter of Gerre Williams. She is a senior at Peak Preparatory High School of Dallas, TX. Demetria serves as senior class president, a member of the National Honor Society, senator of student council, and captain of the varsity cheerleading team.
Demetria has had the opportunity to speak in front of United Way, and Dallas City Council to champion obtaining more opportunities for her school district; Uplift Education. She has served the community by volunteering at C.C. Young Retirement home, helping the homeless, and by collecting books for the local Children‘s Hospital.
Demetria is a firm believer in God; where she attends Greater New Zion Baptist Church. She is a part of the youth group Jesus Christ Believers and serves as a Jr. Usher. Demetria favorite bible verse is:
John 15:16 “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
Demetria will be graduating in the second quartile with a 3.4 GPA. She intends to continue her academic studies at a four year university with a double major in education and mass communications. She plans to earn her master’s degree and teach U.S. government.
Demetria is being escorted by Joshua Lynn Edwards. He is the proud son of Mrs. Monique Morgan-Edwards. Joshua is a senior at South Oak Cliff High School. After high school graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M majoring in Information Technology.
